Stalker ATR Moving Radar
Applied Concepts
CPL Approved.
An upgraded version (2.0) of Stalker ATR stationary radar. Upgrade includes adding moving mode operation, and extending stationary speed measuring range from (1 - 150 mph) to (1 - 200 mph).
OPERATION
- Hand-held Ka band Radar Gun
powered by internal (in handle) or car battery
patrol car / motorcycle mounts optional
optional hand-held wired remote control
- Ka band
wideband mode -- frequency hops between 34.2 - 35.2 GHz (5 channels)
single channel -- one of several fixed frequencies (between 34.2 - 35.2 GHz)
early models used a fixed frequency of 34.70 GHz or 34.94 GHz (others probable)
- Instant On or continuous
- stationary or moving mode
- measures on-coming traffic only
- Fastest Target mode (not early models)
- Audio proportional to target Doppler
- Manual-lock (Speed), separarate display
- supplied with 2 tuning forks;
25 mph (40 kmh)
40 mph (64 kmh)
CONTROLS
- Instant On
XMIT/HOLD -- radar transmitting / on but not transmitting
TRIGGER -- transmit (from hold mode), lock display (if transmitting)
- Manual-lock Target Speed
LOCK/REL -- lock / release target display
TRIGGER -- transmit (from hold mode), lock display (if transmitting)
- Stationary / Moving Mode (STA/MVG)
- Audio Squelch -- squelch target audio tone (SQL)
- Speaker Volume -- audio Doppler (UP or DOWN arrow)
- Self-test (on power-up and TEST)
-- crystal accuracy and transmit frequency
-- processing circuits
- Backlight (on/off) switch for LCD (light symbol)
- Range Control (UP or DOWN arrow on power-up only)
- Power On/Off (PWR)
DISPLAYS / INDICATORS
mph or kmh (depends on software loaded)
- Display (LCD) -- Target Speed
Stationary: 01 to 200 mph (01 to 360 kmh)
Moving mode: 15 to 200 mph CLOSING SPEED (36 to 360 kmh)
min patrol car speed in moving mode 1 mph
- Display (LCD) -- Locked (target) Speed
Displays last locked speed while displaying current target in target speed display.
- Display (LCD) -- Patrol Car Speed
- Speaker (audio tone proportional to target Doppler)
- display indicators
XMIT-- unit transmitting
RFI -- Radio Frequency Interference present, operation inhibited
JAM -- indicates interfering radar present, operation inhibited
LOCK -- speed display locked
BAT -- internal battery low
TEST-- self test running (operated initiated)
OK -- unit passes battery and built-in-test
FAIL-- unit fails battery or built-in-test
Speaker Volume Indicator
