OPERATION

• attended (operator) and unattended (no operator) use
  Instant On (operator controlled)

• across the road radar (see figure below)
  22.5 degree horizontal pointing angle (with traffic direction)
  5 degree horiziontal beamwidth
  15 degree vertical beamwidth

• multi-unit Ka band radar (34.6 GHz +/-100 MHz)
  -- remote control (also displays target speed)
  -- antenna / transmit / receive module
  -- central control module (processor)
  -- camera (optional flash)
  -- optional video camera / recorder / color monitor
  -- optional external speed display (9 or 12 inch digits)

• operates from a stationary position only
  -- usually mounted in a trailer.

• measures on-coming and/or going traffic

• speed measuring range: 15 to 155 mph

• records violations
  -- photograph (includes speed and time) and/or
  -- video tape (includes speed, operator, date, time, location)
